MCE CALLS ON ASSEMBLY MEMBERS TO ADOPT WAYS TO IMPROVE SANITARY CONDITIONS
According to him, sanitation and waste management have become nagging issues for many Assemblies and called on the assembly members to intensify sensitization efforts on the by-laws to get the public better informed on the laws.
He made this known at the Assembly meeting, held on Monday, 26th October, at the Municipal Assembly hall.

The MCE enumerated some measures that are being implemented by the Assembly to curb the unsanitary situations in the area including construction of 10 – seater toilet facility at Abepotia, 10 – seater institutional toilet facility at Asuboni Rails among others.
Others also include a contract agreement with Zoomlion Ghana Limited to evacuate some mountainous refuse sites in the Municipality, the development of a new dumping site at Nkawkaw, and the assessment of about 9 mechanized boreholes in some communities.

He noted that these measures would among order things help strengthen sanitation and waste management activities in the area of operation to avert any outbreak of diseases related to unsanitary conditions.
