Hon. Peter Agyei-Duah Elected Presiding Member of Kwahu West Municipal Assembly
The Kwahu West Municipal Assembly on Friday, 4th September 2026, held an election to elect a Presiding Member (PM) to lead the Assembly.


The election, conducted under the supervision of the Electoral Commission (EC), was contested by two candidates, Hon. Peter Agyei-Duah and Hon. Eric Owusu.
In the first round of voting, Hon. Peter Agyei-Duah secured 20 votes, while Hon. Eric Owusu obtained 16 votes. As neither candidate secured the required number of votes, a second round of voting was conducted.
In the second round, Hon. Peter Agyei-Duah widened his lead, polling 28 votes, while Hon. Eric Owusu secured 7 votes.
At the end of the voting process, the Electoral Commission officially declared Hon. Peter Agyei-Duah as the Presiding Member-Elect of the Kwahu West Municipal Assembly.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Halidu Tamimu, congratulated Hon. Peter Agyei-Duah on his election and expressed his confidence in his ability to provide effective leadership and work collaboratively with the Assembly Members and Management for the continued development of the Municipality.

The election marks an important step towards strengthening the leadership and effective functioning of the Kwahu West Municipal Assembly.
The Assembly wishes Hon. Peter Agyei-Duah a successful tenure as Presiding Member and looks forward to his contribution to the development and progress of the Kwahu West Municipality.
