Hon. Halidu Tamimu Confirmed and Sworn in as Municipal Chief Executive for Kwahu West

In accordance with Article 243 (1) of the 1992 Constitution of the Republic of Ghana and Section 20 (1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), His Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana, on 6th May 2025, nominated Hon. Halidu Tamimu as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Kwahu West Municipal Assembly.

Following the nomination, a confirmation exercise was conducted by the Assembly Members of the Kwahu West Municipal Assembly in line with statutory requirements. At the end of the voting process, Hon. Halidu Tamimu secured 73.5% of the valid votes cast, thereby surpassing the required threshold and earning confirmation as the Municipal Chief Executive.

Subsequently, the Eastern Regional Minister was present at the confirmation ceremony and administered the oath of office, officially swearing in Hon. Halidu Tamimu as the Chief Municipal Executive of the Kwahu West Municipal Assembly.

The Eastern Regional Minister, in his remarks, congratulated the newly sworn-in MCE and urged him to work collaboratively with Assembly Members, traditional authorities, and all stakeholders to advance development and improve service delivery within the municipality.

The Kwahu West Municipal Assembly congratulates Hon. Halidu Tamimu on his successful confirmation and swearing-in and assures him of the Assembly’s full cooperation and support to enable him effectively to deliver on the government’s development agenda for the municipality.
