The Kwahu West Municipal Assembly today joined the Muslim community at the Eid grounds to commemorate Eid-ul-Fitr, marking the successful completion of the 30-day Ramadan fast.

Addressing the gathering, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Tamimu Halidu, congratulated the Muslim community on the successful completion of Ramadan and commended religious leaders for their continued contribution to peace, unity and social development within the Municipality.

The MCE urged Muslims and the wider community to sustain the virtues cultivated during the holy month, particularly unity, love for humanity, discipline, compassion and peaceful coexistence. He noted that these values are essential to building a harmonious and progressive society.

Hon. Tamimu Halidu also emphasized the importance of investing in the Municipality’s youth through quality education, skills development and vocational training, stressing that the collective development of Kwahu West depends on empowering young people with the knowledge and skills needed to become productive contributors to society.

He further used the occasion to highlight some of the key achievements of the government since assuming office, outlining initiatives and interventions aimed at improving the lives of citizens and creating opportunities for sustainable development.

The MCE reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to promoting inclusive growth, development and opportunities for all residents of Kwahu West, while encouraging continued collaboration among religious leaders, traditional authorities, community members and other stakeholders.

The Kwahu West Municipal Assembly on Tuesday, 1st July 2025, joined the rest of the nation to observe Ghana’s National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving at the municipal capital. The 2025 observance was held under the national theme: “Reflect, Reset, and Renew for National Prosperity.”

The theme highlighted the importance of gratitude to God, renewed faith, national unity, and a collective recommitment to Ghana’s development and stability, particularly in the wake of recent economic challenges confronting the nation.

The event brought together officials of the Kwahu West Municipal Assembly, traditional authorities, religious leaders, security agencies, staff of decentralized departments, and members of the public to pray for peace, progress, and sustainable development in the municipality and the country.

Address by the Municipal Chief Executive

Delivering the address, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Halidu Tamimu, underscored the significance of the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving as a moment for reflection and renewal of purpose as a people. He called on residents of the municipality to remain hopeful, united, and steadfast in faith as the nation continues its journey towards economic recovery and national prosperity.

Hon. Tamimu Halidu encouraged citizens to complement prayers with discipline, hard work, and patriotism, noting that sustainable development requires both divine guidance and responsible citizenship. He further urged stakeholders to continue supporting government policies and local initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods and strengthening social cohesion within the municipality.
